When your car stops in the middle of a beautiful Saturday afternoon drive home, 2 minutes from said location, you tend to want to destroy shit. But I took the high road and left the sledgehammer in the trunk. Instead, (with the unofficial but pretty damn certain) blown transmission I now have, I decided to charge my previously dead cell phone and phone for help. All the while with my eight year old nephew screaming and yelling as if the car were about to explode. Apparently, the rev's of the engine scared him. His one request to me after I asked him in the nicest way possible I could at the time to stop the dramatics? Well, here's the conversation..
*car revs but won't accelerate*
Me: Fuck... what the hell...
Nephew: oh my god, uncle jason can I please get out the car?!
*no response from me because I'm calling my brother*Nephew: Uncle jason please i'm scared I'm so scared oh we're gonna die!
Me: ... we're not going to die Julian relax okay?
Nephew: PLEASE LET ME GET OUT THE CAR??!!!!
Note: The car is going 40 mph at this point. THIS lil' nigga wants to jump out of the car and get hit by one...
Me: Julian, if you don't stop with the yelling. I said to relax, we're not going to die. Quiet!
Nephew: Just promise me one thing please please Uncle Jason if I be quiet PLEASE?!
Me: .... what is it Julian?
Nephew: Please just promise me that I'll get to see my family again and tell everyone I love them and we'll get to pop pop's house and I'll make it to the bathroom?!
Me: *dead silence*
Seriously. If it wasn't for the fact that I was pissed, I would of died laughing right then. I know, maybe thats a little heartless. I mean, he's an 8 year old. But c'mon... its not like you see smoke coming from the engine. The car is just revving and not moving. Yo!.. what the hell?
So, it looks like all the money I had ready to spend on my audio equipment for that little audio engineering thing I want to do with my life? Yeah, its going towards my car. That I don't even think is worth fucking fixing.
Its time to re-evaluate my life.
